Capacity Building
The department has been sending students to the mathematics talent search and training programme since 1994.
Students accompanied by faculty visit mathematics departments at other universities to know about PG programmes and research opportunities in mathematics.
In association with the physical sciences club spectrum the department helps students to prepare live demo projects and 3d models to exhibit to school students in the annual event Glee.
Experts from industry are invited to address the students about various Career opportunities in mathematics and allied fields.
Guidance is provided to prepare for entrance examinations leading to admission in reputed institutes.
Courses on mathematics for competitive examinations are conducted to help students seeking jobs in government and corporate sector.
Students are involved in organizing many annual events such as mathematics quiz, treasure hunt, poster and paper presentation etc.
Students are motivated to take part and win prizes in competitions held at other colleges.
Counseling sessions are arranged with the help of college counselor to overcome learning disabilities if any.
Students are made to visit orphanages, old age homes etc. as part of Social outreach programme to create awareness about social issues.
