BCom International Business (IB)

This course is for students who would like to specialize in International Business subjects. They learn the strategies of International Business and study one International trade related subject in each semester apart from studying the core commerce subjects.

Course Objectives
  • To expose students to export/ import procedures and concepts.
  • To impart skills of organization/ presentation/analysis and application.
  • To cater to the current needs of the industry.
  • To enable the students learn analytical skills through a guided project in the area of International Business.

 

Program Outcomes (POs)

Upon completion of the B. Com Degree Programme, the graduate will be able

  • PO1. To receive a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals and a quality education in all the core subjects essential for an undergraduate degree in Commerce.
  • PO2. To build entrepreneurial skills required for innovation and creation of ideas.
  • PO3. To develop effective communication skills and contemporary IT knowledge essential for joining the workforce or for further higher education.
  • PO4. To be trained in the development of ethical, moral & human values in order to contribute to the well being of the society
  • PO5. To acquire skills for the development of sustainable goals aligned to global, national & social issues.
  • PO6. To develop leadership skills and the ability to work with groups for a common cause.
  • PO7. To acquire the ability for critical thinking through the development of cognitive and decision making skills and an attitude of positive and lifelong learning in order to succeed in a dynamic environment.

 

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

At the end of the program, the students of B. Com (IB) will

  • PSO1. Acquire ability to identify opportunities in the area of International business for pursuing entrepreneurial activities and /or professional advancement.
  • PSO2. Gain conceptual clarity as to how business organisations operate in an international environment and study the development and implementation of strategy, managerial activities and organisational issues in International Business.
  • PSO3. Be critically aware of the challenges of managing international companies both large and small; the fundamentals of globalization and international trade and marketing.
  • PSO4. Be equipped with a thorough understanding of international financial markets and basic Currency Operations, managing assets and liabilities of multinational companies.
  • PSO5. Evaluate and analyse the performance of a multinational company on ethical, legal, financial, marketing, logistical and social issues.
  • PSO6. Have visited at least one international destination to gain a deeper understanding of its logistics capabilities in specific and its culture, business environment & financial system in general
