UBA - UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN
St. Francis College for Women is part of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 program as a participating institute initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. Of India. The programme is inspired by the vision of transformational change in the processes of rural development by leveraging higher educational institutions to help build an Inclusive India. The Mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is to enable the higher educational institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying region-specific challenges to development and evolving appropriate and realistic solutions for accelerating sustainable growth. It also aims to promote dissemination of information regarding various government sponsored schemes.
UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN @ ST.FRANCIS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN
Objectives:
- To bring awareness to Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment)
- To ensure proper waste segregation and composting.
- To empower women in making sustainable cleaning products.
- Raise awareness of the importance of health and hygiene.
- To provide education on the importance of a Balanced Diet.
- To foster awareness on common diseases.
- To disseminate information about central government programs.
- To disseminate information about state government programs.
- To foster awareness of social issues like alcoholism, women's and children's rights.
Goals:
- Empowering communities through green practices for environmental sustainability.
- To promote and ensure improved health and hygiene practices through community education.
- To promote awareness about social issues and government-sponsored schemes.
St. Francis College for Women has enrolled in Central Government sponsored program of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan [UBA] and adopted four Thandas and one colony-Lakshmi Nagar from Kandi Mandal of Sangareddy District. The designated Thandas are as mentioned below:
- Vaddenaguda Thanda.
- Erdanoor Thanda.
- Ippalagadda Thanda.
- Lakshmi Nagar Colony(Differently abled colony in kandi Village)
- Kandi Thanda.
As a part of participating institution, the College will undertake awareness programs on various aspects like Environment Sustainability, Health and Hygiene and Awareness on Social Issues and Government-Sponsored Schemes.
