Department of Nutrition

Nutrition and Dietetics is an integrated and a professional program preparing students to work as Nutritionists and Dieticians and explore how it affects the health of the individual and the nation, and also to discover how diet can be used in the treatment of disease.

The Department of Nutrition was established in the year 2013 with two -combinations and an intake of 60 students per year. With a growing awareness in the field of Nutrition, the department experienced an increase in the strength and expansion of the department in terms of infrastructure. This programme teaches the students to apply nutritional science in order to promote health and to treat medical conditions

Objectives
  • To provide Students with knowledge about the relationship between Food, Nutrition and Health
  • To train and equip the students with necessary skills to understand the fundamental and advanced concepts of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • To enable the students to comprehend the concepts of Nutrition, to gain a command over the subject which they can apply in Clinical practice and day to day life
  • To pursue Nutrition oriented courses as a career option
