Department of Social Management
“A truly great Social Worker is hard to find, difficult to part and impossible to forget”. The Social Management Department at St. Francis College, equips students with professional knowledge, skills and capacities in order to build brighter, better and stronger communities.
The Department of Social Management was created in the year 2007. The course aims at creating awareness and developing a sense of social consciousness among its students on existing social realities and building managerial skills. The department provides students an exposure through field visits to various NGOs working with the underprivileged sections of our society and through case studies helps students of social management develop a keen understanding of the professional nature of intervention services and social work practice. The end goal is to help students understand the impact and change that social managers make in the society.
Objectives
The Purpose of the department is to enable students
- Obtain knowledge in Social Management Theories, Methods & Practice in different settings.
- Acquire knowledge on the utilization of Social Management theories and methods with social welfare administration.
- Develop skills to utilize and practice with diverse and vulnerable populations
