We don’t simply teach students the art of number-crunching; we also train them to speak eloquently in the language of data, data and data. Welcome to the Department of Statistics.

The Department of Statistics was established in 1990, with the objective of introducing students to the role of probability and statistical techniques in science. The department also trains research workers in research methodology, especially in areas of probability, statistics and operations research. Our students are employed in a wide range of sectors, both in India and abroad.

Objectives

• To impart to students the skills necessary for entry level employment in statistics and related fields.
• To prepare students for Post graduate programs in statistics.
