Deshabhashalu Telugu lessa ( Telugu is the greatest of all the languages in the country.)

The Department of Telugu ,established in 1959, upholds the tradition and changing trends of the language.It works tirelessly towards perpetuating and cultivating a sense of appreciation of the sundara Telugu (beautiful language) in the Telengana heartland.

The department offers Telugu as a second language to the students of all the streams for four semesters. It focuses towards building a strong foundation of the language and inculcating core values of life in students. The latest trends in academics are brought to the students through relevant methodology and pedagogy. The curriculum is specifically designed keeping in mind the needs of the hour and facilitating skill development and professional acumen in students. It guarantees that the student gains a wide exposure to speaking, reading, writing fluently in the language .

The department also trains and grooms them towards journalism, script writing for the media, acting, translation, voice over and the nuances of communication skills. A platform for the students to showcase their talents through numerous competition is provided by its club- Harivillu .Most importantly, the department believes in furthering students develop life skills ,gain emotional stability and aspire for a sense of fulfilment in life.

Objectives
  • To strengthen the confidence levels of the students by encouraging them to appreciate the value of our culture and tradition (Samskruthi sampradayalu).
  • To enable students to develop critical perspective ( Drushtikonam) and life skills by introducing them to selected texts of ancient and modern Telugu literature.
  • To hone speaking and writing skills in Telugu and prepare students for professional sphere.
  • To look into the holistic development of the students, instil moral values and shape them as responsible individuals and members of society.
