Department of Chemistry

Chemistry has a role to play in all scientific endeavours starting from the manufacture of everyday essential products to the exploration of life elsewhere in the universe. The department of chemistry at St. Francis has a high degree of expertise in training young minds in this central science.

The Department of Chemistry at St. Francis College for women was established in the year 1962 and offers UG programmes and a PG programme in Organic Chemistry.

The faculty of the department have excellent academic credentials and are actively involved in research in various fields of chemistry with publications in reputed journals.

The well-equipped and well maintained laboratories, modern teaching aids and a full fledged library make learning an enriching experience.

We adopt innovative research based pedagogical tools and skill enhancement activities as a part of our curriculum.

Apart from Guest lectures, seminars, workshops, field visits and educational tours, the department organises various intra and inter college competitions.

We collaborate with premiere institutes and labs including NCCCM, AMD, IICT, CCMB, ARCI, JNCASR, IIIT Hyderabad, Dr Reddy’s, Mylan, GVKBio, Biological E and Natco Pharma for student internship programmes and projects.
