Department of Commerce
Everything we do is driven by COMMERCE
Transforming your mind and broadening your visions. The Department of Commerce, St. Francis College for Women was established in the year of 1972 with one B.Com section and 3 staff members. We have grown over the years and now have a strong, well qualified and dedicated team of 25 staff members. The department is currently offering one PG program and 5 UG programs to an average of 1050 students every year. We were the first department in the twin cities to include project work in UG curriculum since 1992. In addition to the traditional chalk and talk method we have developed close to 40 teaching methodologies.
Department of Commerce, St. Francis College for Women is satiating the thirst for knowledge in students by constantly engaging them in various intellectual pursuits and equipping them with skills to face the challenges in academics and beyond. The Department was the first in the college to start the student club COFEE (Commerce Organization For Emerging Entrepreneurs) in the year 2002 to instil a sense of responsibility and develop organizational and leadership skills among the students.
