Capacity Building

 

  • All PG students attend an annual Academia - Industry meet at NCCCM and IICT for interaction of their Projects done at these respective Organisations
  • Every year during December the PG students of Sem II organize a one week schedule to visit underprivileged Schools for Teaching of Maths and Science for High school students along with Demonstration experiments in Science .
  • GLEE- An annual outreach programme is organised by SPECTRUM, the Science Club of our College. Students of government schools are invited to visit various science labs in our college where scientific techniques and processes are displayed and explained. Our Department conducts 3D/ working model competition for students on this day. Our students are encouraged to contribute to the campaign of “REVIVE”, a recycling drive by Spectrum.
  • Workshop conducted annually by the PG Chemistry students for all B.Sc final year students to enlighten the UG students with projects of our PG students done at various Research organisations and also demonstrate some of the Research instruments available in the college Axis research lab
  • Intercollegiate competitions including Chemistry Idol, Chem wizard ,Chem Dramebaaz - a Role play in concepts of Chemistry, SCI-FI Tambola, and Scientific paper presentations is conducted as part of Chemfest.
  • Contributions from faculty and students to “PRISM” magazine of the science faculty.
Seminars & Workshops
  • Organized 2 STUDY ABROAD ORIENTATION WORKSHOPS in association with Mr. Andrew Simpson, Head of International relations, Study Euro (22 nd Jan 2020) and Dr. Ahmed, Global Tree Consultants (4th December 2019), for all 2nd and final year students of B.Sc. and M.Sc.
  • A NATIONAL WORKSHOP on “Recent Trends in Bioinformatics for Exploratory analysis of Biological Data” from 16/01/20-18/01/20.
  • Dr. Saritha Aduri was a member of the organizing committee for the ‘ NATIONAL SEMINAR AND TRAINING PROGRAM ’ on “Gandhian Ideals And Youth Leadership” organized by the NSS units of St. Francis College for Women on 8th and 9th, January, 2020.
  • A WORKSHOP on “Computer Aided Drug Design” (CADD) - 03/01/20 for P.G students at St.Francis College for Women
  • Ms. Alina Jyothi and Ms. Dhanya were members of the organizing committee for a NATIONAL SEMINAR on Intellectual Property Rights-Opportunities and Challenges for Higher Education Institutions organized by St.Francis College for Women on 9th March 2019.
  • Dr. Saritha Aduri is the NSS Coordinator from 2019
  • As a member of Placement cell Ms. Dhanya was involved in organising the orientation, training and placement of students during the academic year 2019-2020.
  • Ms. Dhanya was a member of the organizing committee for the NATIONAL SEMINAR on Library Resources for teaching and Research- opportunities and challenges at St. Francis College For Women on 30th November, 2018.
  • Ms. Shikha Chander was a coordinator of Women Cell. It's a platform to share the issues related to women, to develop, promote and disseminate knowledge about their role in the society through workshops and awareness programmes to impart knowledge of opportunities and rights.
  • Ms. Dhanya was one of the coordinators for ‘SPECTRUM’ the science club of the college (2018-2020) and organised its annual science exhibition “GLEE” for students from underprivileged schools, a 3D/working model competition on “sustainable solutions for a better tomorrow”, the recycling drive “REVIVE”, career guidance seminars, inter and intra college competitions. Worked as a member of organising committee for Student Induction Programme, YUVAFLARE the annual youth festival of the college, “Vajratarang” the fund raising event for Diamond Jubilee and other college events.
