Events

• On 19 th April 2021, an Inter online competition was organized by the department to encourage the students showcase their skill in statistics with various fun filled games.
• International webinar on “Introduction to Analytics and the role of Statistics in todays’ world” on 24 th April 2021 with an aim to provide the students a deeper insight into the role of Statistics in today’s world with special emphasis on Data Analytics.
• International webinar on “Introduction to Data Analytics and How do you crack your first job?” on 20 th September 2021 was organized to help the students understand the importance of Data Analytics and also to guide them towards better job opportunities.
• Commemorating the birthday of Prof.P.C.Mahalanobis , the Department of statistics every year on the 29th of June celebrates “ Statistics Day ” where the department conducts several activities for the students.
• On 25th May, 2020 an Inter College Online competition was organized by the Department of Statistics, The competition was aimed to hone students' skill in statistics with various fun filled games. 80 participants from 5 different colleges in the city took part in this event which was held online amidst the current lockdown situation.
• The Department of statistics has organized an International webinar on “Role of Statistics in Today’s world - Data Analytics and Beyond” on the 30th of May, 2020 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm IST . The speaker for this webinar was Mr.Surya Tamada, Founder & CEO, CloudScouts Techology Services, United Kingdom.

Field Visit

The students of BSC(MSCS) III yr accompanied by Dr.CH.Yugandhar, HOD and Ms.M.Sruthi Sagar went on a field visit to Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi on 18 th November 2019.
