Workshops
- The Department of Computer Science conducted a two-day workshop on 1st and 2nd August 2022 “CYBER SECURITY AND ETHICAL HACKING”-153 students and 20 Faculty.
- Conducted a two-day workshop on 6th and 7th September 2022 “PYTHON”-174 students and 20 Faculty.
- Conducted a one day hands on workshop on “Web Designing (Html, BootStrap, LARAVEL)”, organized by the Department in collaboration with ScoriaIT on the 13th of March, 2023.
- Organized a Workshop on “Big data Analytics” for M.Sc students from 13th march 2023 to 17th March 2023 .
Field Trips
- M.Sc Computer Science second year Students visited ICRISAT on 21st February 2023.
Facilities and Infrastructure
The computer block has nine high-tech computer labs with more than 400 advanced computers with LAN and internet services. One of the labs is exclusively used by the departments of mathematics, electronics and statistics to train students with software packages such as Mathematica and SPSS and a second lab is the language lab which acts as a platform for learning, practicing and honing language skills by using technology and address the concepts of lexicon, phonetics and accent .
The entire college is Wi-Fi enabled.
Clubs, Events and Activities
As a member of college science club SPECTRUM, computer science department encourages students to actively participate in the club activities, especially GLEE - the college science festival.
In the year 2017, the department inaugurated its own digital newsletter “SFCBytes”. Articles available here are on the latest news in the field of computer science and information technology, and are authored by our own faculty and students.
In the year 2018, the department has initiated C@NNECT, the forum through which the department conducts exclusive events, seminars and workshops.
