Internships, Projects and Careers
Internships
Learning, growing and most importantly preparing for life and career, is what college is all about. College internships are very vital to aid in the career readiness of a student. Generally, an internship is a task-specific exchange of service for experience between a student and a business. Within internships, classroom concepts suddenly become real tools of the trade as the student interacts and learns in a professional setting. Internship experiences are formal, formative, and foundational to a student’s career. All computer science postgraduate students have to mandatorily train with summer internship. Undergraduate students are encouraged to get involved in internships during the summer vacation at the end of the second year. The placement cell renders the best service to help students obtain a summer internship.
Projects
In the working world, jobs are becoming more interactive and team-based. The goal of collaborative class projects is to help college students learn how to function in these modern work environments. Students perform research or solve problems as a team, thus learning the skills necessary to work together in an efficient and productive manner. Through these assignments, students learn project management skills, how to share tasks, engage with each other, and benefit from listening to others’ viewpoints and backgrounds.
All computer science postgraduate students and undergraduate students undertake a project as a part of their curriculum. Students are guided in this endeavour by the faculty who encourage and provide the best guidance to help them include all their subject knowledge effective to design and develop a software product. These structured group projects span an entire college semester.
Careers
The faculty of the department interact with students to understand their interest and capability. The students are encouraged appropriately to pursue higher studies or to work. The computer science curriculum offers a theoretical approach to learning. This allows students to acquire fundamental skills they can apply in the workplace. The programmes also shine a spotlight on experiential education which encourage students to apply what they have learned to real-world problems. Students are hence well-prepared for a career.
With the able assistance of the placement cell, most of our students are successfully placed in reputed IT organizations and academic institutions.
