Clubs, Events & Activities
The Department engages students in the joys of the literary arts with plenty of out-of-class activity.
- The Department of English organises various literary and cultural events through its Club – La Fiesta - and theatre events on a regular basis. The department regularly conducts the eagerly awaited theatre workshops for the drama enthusiasts, which introduces the students to various aspects of the theatre. The students are provided regular opportunities to stage plays at the various events of the college.
- Regular Inter/Intra Collegiate Literary Activities like Slogan Writing, Short Story Writing, Poetry, Essay writing, Quiz,tape a tale, open micand a few online literary competitions are conducted by the Department.
- Lit meet to encourage young writers, Bibliophile, the Book club for voracious readers, Francis Production for Drama enthusiasts and Francis Poets Society Meetare a few other activities conducted by the Department, apart from the Annual Literary Fest – Art Boulevard.
Facilities & Infrastructure
- With state-of-the-art equipment, the Department keeps au courant with language instruction techniques.
- A well-equipped Language Lab with forty systems aims at training students to be more competent with their language skills; the emphasis is on language learning through the use of emerging technology, to address the concepts of grammar, phonetics and accent. This effort has been made effective with the help of the Language Lab, which was started in June 2011.
