Industry Tours and Outstation Excursions
Industry Tours and Excursions are important components for a student’s development. These activities enhance and develop classroom learning and encourage new interests amongst students. It also makes them more aware of community resources and helps them relate their educational experience to the outside world. Different industry visits and excursions are planned and executed at B.Voc. Department. Industrial visits are known for technical methods of teaching. It helps students to know things practically through interviews, interaction, working methods and employment practices. These visits give students awareness about new technologies and give combined knowledge about both theory and practical.
A few visits organized by the B.Voc. Department were to Chennai-Pondicherry and Mumbai-Lonavala. Students visited various well-renowned industries in these locations like Makkal Kural Printing Press and Hatsun Agro Milk Plant, both located in Chennai, and Parle Industries at Mumbai. Students witness the entire operations and finishing of the final product and also directly interact with the mall operations head and learn about the entire functioning of the mall. Through the industry visits the students were acknowledged with various facts about the reasons for the huge popularity and high quality maintained for the products.

Industrial Trips & Visits
Students who directly participate during a field experience generate a more positive attitude about the subject. Effective methods to develop student interest include experiential activities and field trips, which create authentic learning opportunities for students, regardless of the content area. During field trips, teachers ensure that such activities are well-organized so that the students maximize the learning experiences.
Industrial trips are planned for five purposes
- To provide firsthand experience.
- To stimulate interest and motivation in education.
- To add relevance to learning and interrelationships.
- To strengthen observation and perception skills.
- To promote personal and social development
The famous industrial companies students were taken to in and around Hyderabad as a part of Industrial visits include Fulfillment Centre of Flipkart where all the deliveries in and around Hyderabad proceed from. In the visit to Bhoodan Pochampally a textile processing industry located in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, the students witnessed the entire supply chain of procuring raw fabric from farmers of different states and whirling it into a beautiful fine textile by the local weavers. Students also visited Gubba Cold Storage the first cold storage in India with jumbo bag seed preservation with 2-ton capacity, each owned by Corteva Agrisciences company. Here students gained knowledge about the working pattern of a cold storage and the different ways in which seeds are preserved at different temperatures under different conditions considering the safety precautions. One of the favorite visits for all the students was the Sri Srinavasa Dairy Pvt. Ltd., otherwise called Scoops Ice Cream Manufacturing Unit located in Hayathnagar Mandal, RR District Hyderabad. This visit has given students in-depth knowledge on manufacturing of ice-cream right from pasteurization till packaging.
