Louis Pasteur Research Centre

Department of Microbiology, inaugurated Louis Pasteur Research centre on 18th June, 2015 at St.Francis College for women.
 

Research Facilities

Research lab is well equipped with the basic and advanced instruments such as Soxhlet Apparatus, rotary vacuum evaporator, cold centrifuge, micro centrifuge, ultrasonicator, UV spectrophotometer, thermostatic water bath, microscopes, phase contrast microscope, UV transilluminator, incubator, fermenter, deep freezer, shakers, electrophoretic equipment, thermocycler, anaerobic chamber, ELISA Reader, etc. to enable the students to carry out their Ph.D. programme in Microbiology.

  • Dr. M. Shailaja Raj HOD, Recognized as research supervisor for Osmania University and JNTU, Hyderabad. Under her guidance two students awarded with Ph.D. and one student submitted Thesis at JNTU, Hyderabad. Presently guiding three students at Osmania university and one for JNTU. Research interest in the field of Nanotechnology and its biological applications
  • Dr. B. Aruna, Asst. Professor, Department of Microbiology, Recognized as research supervisor for Osmania University. Presently guiding one students at Osmania university and carrying out research activities in the area of LABs and their biological applications.

  • D. Sunita submitted UGC Minor Research Project (Grant : 1,13000 Rupees) in February 2020 on “Biosynthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of silveroxide nanoparticles and their application in increasing the shelf life of different foods”.
